Dave Brewitt is one of the two Managing Directors of Carpenter Investments (who own L7). He is also the owner and Chief Executive of the Hope Street Hotel, Liverpool.

This independent boutique 4* Hotel was recently awarded Best City Hotel, by the Sunday Times.

It sits in the heart of Liverpool's Georgian area, immediately opposite the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. It is positioned in the centre of Hope Street with both of Liverpool's two cathedrals at either end of the street, the Anglican Cathedral and the Metropolitan Cathedral.

L7 was commissioned to design a significant extension to Hope Street Hotel, Liverpool. This included 62 bedrooms, a private cinema and a spa arranged over 8 storeys threaded over, under and alongside the existing Grade II listed building.

The design of the rooftop extension embraces the form and tone of the original 1931 Portland Stone Building. Extensive terraces and glazing allow a wonderful array of views across the city, its landmarks and the estuary from high vantage points.

L7 are proud to have worked on the Hope Street Hotel with its reputation for chic design, good taste and attention to detail.

The original interior look is 'city chic' with original features of pink Cheshire brick, iron pillars and pitch pine beams. The cherry and walnut bespoke furniture and solid oak and birch floors complement white bedroom interiors.

The hotel extension was constructed with minimal alterations to the listed building. The structural support was delicately weaved through the existing 1931 building and this technical expertise was recognised with an ICE North West highly commended award.

L7 worked hand in hand with the Chief Executive to realise his vision for all aspects of the design from the bedrooms to the private cinema.

Welcoming visitors from all around the world, Hope Street Hotel has set the highest of standards of hospitality and comfort for all their guests.

The basement spa features a reflective stretched fabric ceiling and atmospheric lighting to its vitality pool.
